Honoring July 4th:
A Nation Built by Immigrants 🇺🇸
From LULAC Council 8 | El Paso, Texas
This Independence Day, we proudly celebrate the founding ideals of freedom, unity, and opportunity — values that have drawn people from around the world to make America their home.
At LULAC Council 8, we recognize the vital role immigrants have played in shaping this country’s history, culture, and future. Except for Native Americans, we are all descendants of those who journeyed here in search of a better life.
This July 4th, let’s honor the contributions of every immigrant who has helped build the America we know today — with resilience, hard work, and hope.
Because America’s strength lies in its diversity.

Bel Air High School Engineering Students Visit New Mexico State University
LULAC Council 8, in collaboration with the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC), organized a college tour to New Mexico State University for engineering students from Bel Air High School.
The visit provided students with direct exposure to university life, academic departments, and career pathways in STEM fields. College planning involves many important steps, and early campus experiences play a critical role in helping students make informed decisions about their future.
LULAC Council 8 remains committed to empowering youth through education, mentorship, and access to higher learning opportunities.
